Friday is Courier Six -- once a vault dweller, then a mendicant "researcher" and handyman, then a half-corpse in a shallow grave. The end result of several generations born under unethical and unwitting psychosociological experimentation, he is furtive and untrusting when he emerges squinting into the desert sun that will see his improbable journey towards capable leadership. Or "leadership," as he'd prefer to say; he tends to leave the Mojave in the hands of the Followers of the Apocalypse, without tyrant or centralized government, while he and his wife document society and the wilds all along the West Coast.
